Oceanco, Vitters launch unique projec
ALBLASSERDAM _ It is the best of Dutch yacht building and design in one unique project. Oceanco and Vitters Shipyard _ builders of very large superyachts and super sailingyachts, respectively _ have completed a rare collaboration resulting in an 85m Bill Tripp-designed, high-performance luxury sailing yacht.
The yards worked jointly on design engineering and specifications. The project’s complexity lies in the sheer size of the undertaking that required the two yards to capitalize on each other’s expertise in yachtbuilding. The yacht has an unusual, high-volume superstructure that offers long, clear sightlines throughout and four decks of common and private living areas.
The Vitters Shipyard, founded in 1990, has built more than 30 classical and performance sailing yachts of 40 meters and longer. It owns Green Marine, the British builder of custom racing yachts, high performance superyacht hulls and light-weight components in carbon fiber composites. Siince its founding in 1987, Oceanco has built more than 26 custom superyachts of 80m and longer.
