ZAANDAM _ Every Claasen Shipyard launch is an event and the mid-May launch of Atalante especially so. Soon after the new 38.8m Truly Classic 127 sailing superyacht _ the yard’s largest ever _ hit the water it was given a mast and rigging that rise almost 50m from the sleek hull.

The performance yacht came off the boards of Hoek Naval Architects and was built to MCA LY2 regulations. That means that in addition to cruising, the yacht will compete in the Superyacht Cup and Spirit of Tradition regattas.

Atalante has been given the latest technologies and innovations. The Hoek Design deck layout includes a private owner’s cockpit aft and a guest cockpit and deckhouse amidships. Below is a classic interior.

Claasen Shipyard was founded in 1985. It specializes in classic performance sailing yachts. Each with a customized interior layout and style, sail plan, keel, draft, deck gear, rig and technical systems.
