Airbus chief to address 2015 METS show
AMSTERDAM _ Peter Sander, Manager Emerging Technologies & Concepts at AIRBUS Industries, will speak on 3D printing in industrial manufacturing at the Nov. 17 breakfast meeting opening the 2015 METS show.
Show organizers say that with 34 years of experience in the aviation industry, Sander is well-placed to be this year’s keynote speaker expanding on 3D printing, formally known as Additive Layer Manufacturing. The ‘Breakfast Briefing’ is the traditional kick-off of the 3-day Marine Equipment Trade Show (METS) in Amsterdam RAI at which guests and dignitaries hear who are the winners of the annual DAME design awards.
Airbus has much experience in 3D printing and gained unique insights into its emerging possibilities. The technology is stirring ever more interest in the marine equipment and boatbuilding sectors.
New at METS this year: In addition to the DAME design awards, the 2015 show features the inaugural Boat Builder Awards hailing individual and team success within boat building companies in 6 categories: retail marketing initiatives; international distributor/dealer development; boat builder and equipment manufacturer collaborative solutions; innovative on-board design solutions; advancement in a production process; individual lifetime achievement award. The awards will be presented at a gala dinner on Wednesday 18th November, 2015 at The National Maritime Museum, Amsterdam.
METS is the world’s largest trade exhibition of equipment, materials and systems for the international marine leisure industry, organized by Amsterdam RAI in association with ICOMIA (International Council of Marine Industry Associations).
