Dutch superyacht makers shine at Monaco
MONACO ~ In 25 years, the Monaco Yacht Show has become the high mass for superyacht makers, owners, brokers, designers, suppliers and their hangers-on. New in 2015: HISWA Holland Yachting Group’s ‘Holland House’ flaunted the work of the Dutch industry which in 2014 delivered 16 yachts and took orders for 22.

|Heesen Yachts unveiled the hybrid 50m Nova, its 5th yacht with a Fast Displacement Hull in 2 years. It generates fuel savings at low speeds: 98 liters/hr at 12kn and only 57.5 liters at 10kn. The Nova has 2 MTU 12V 2000 M61 engines _ 600 kW each which are smaller than typically fitted on a 50m yacht.|
|Damen Shipyards’ SeaXplorer is the world’s first luxury, Polar Code-compliant range (65 to 100m) of expedition yachts. Damen’s superyacht builder Amels will handle sales and marketing. “A number of experienced yachting clients approached us about adapting DAMEN’s professional vessels,” says Amels’ Rob Luijendijk. The SeaXplorer can break through 1m of polar ice. It carries tenders, expedition fear, submersibles, dive equipment and up to 2 helicopters.www.seaxplorer.nl|
|Oceanco announced a new Vitruvius yacht project with designer Philippe Briand and showed off its work on the largest sailing yacht ever built in the Netherlands: a 105m dynarig craft. “She will be an extremely environmentally friendly superyacht,” says Oceanco Group Marketing Manager Paris Baloumis. It is hailed as a “game-changer” that will shape the way owners cruise the water and respect the oceans. The most famous Dyna rig is the Maltese Falcon.www.oceancoyacht.com|
