Younique yard working on luxury craft
WONS ~ Younique Yachts says it is at work on the design of a new range of 9.5m aluminium-hulled luxury tenders, based on 3 different models: a supply tender for crews, a sports tender for owners and a limousine tender for ‘official transfers’.
Egbert Wattel of Younique Yachts says in the years ahead his company will be offering these new models to the megayacht industry in tandem with custom-built craft. Wattel: “We listen to the end user’s wishes and use our joint knowledge and experience to make all these wishes come true.” Younique Yachts is collaborating with Frank Laupman of Omega Architects and Van Oossanen Naval Architects. Recently, the company’s 31ft (10m) tender (photos) for the 73m Yalla built by CRN Yachts of Italy, was nominated for the 2015 Tender Design Award.
It has a water displacement of 4500 kg and reached a top speed over 40 knots during sea trials on a choppy North Sea. It lets people board from the aft or foredeck and boasts a smartly designed bow ladder for easy access to the beach. The high-quality finish extends to teak decks and tinted windows. Inside, there are comfortable leather seats for up to a dozen passengers. Younique Yachts tenders are built by Hutting Yachts of the Netherlands.
