AMSTERDAM ~ Hard on the heels of the 2015 Amsterdam HISWA in-Water Show, a trade jury has unveiled its 2016 sail and motor yacht nominations.

The winners will be announced March 16, the opening day of the 2016 HISWA Amsterdam Boat Show. The jury has nominated 4 sailboats _ the Hanse 315, the Dragonfly 25, the Maxi 1200 and the Italia 9.98. Its 5 motoryacht nominees include 2 Dutch entries: the Boarncruiser 1200 Elegance (top left) and the Super Lauwersmeer Evolve OC (below right).

The boat testing days will be Oct. 13 and 14. The independent jury is comprised of senior yachting media editors and well-known yacht designers. The jury chairman, Martin de Jager of Martin de Jager Yacht Design BV, has recently succeeded Hugo van Wieringen of Azure Naval Architects.

The HISWA Boat of the Year event is an initiative of the HISWA Amsterdam Boat Show. It is a salute to innovative sail and motorboats that have recently appeared on the Dutch market.
