AMSTERDAM _ Jumbo, a splendid motor yacht that was once part of the Dutch royal fleet, has gone on sale. Built in 1990 by Moonen Shipyards, the 85-ft displacement motor yacht with a transatlantic range, was  completely overhauled in 2001. It was also thoroughly refitted recently. Designed by Diana Yacht Design of the Netherlands, Jumbo has a steel hull, an aluminum superstructure and teak decks. There are four guest cabins and a generous galley.

The royal family originally purchased Jumbo via the Dutch brokerage house of De Valk which is now  selling her for a third time. The late Prince Bernhard, father of Queen Beatrix, was particularly fond of Jumbo. “She is still in pristine condition thanks to several refits and her original build quality,” says Mark Swagerman of De Valk’s Amsterdam office. “Jumbo’s owner even had her steel hull repainted in a coat of striking blue Awlgrip and installed completely new systems.
