Bruinisse marina bags 5 anchors in UK survey
BRUINISSE _ Jachthaven Bruinisse has entered the Gold Anchor Award scheme of Britain’s Yacht Harbour Association winning 5 gold anchors _ the highest score possible. “Jachthaven Bruinisse is now part of our scheme,” says TYHA Administrator Libby Gordon. “We are delighted they attained TYHA’s highest award of 5 gold anchors.”
The association now lists 5 Dutch marinas meeting its norms on such things as infrastructure quality, environmental compliance, ambience, staff attitude and access to shopping and maintenance. The other 4 are: Wetterwille and Muiderzand with 5 gold anchors each. Both Compagnieshaven Enkhuizen BV and Jachthaven Naarden BV have 4 gold anchors. They have recently been reassessed and await that verdict.
Over 130 marinas in 19 countries participate in TYHA’s Gold Anchor Award scheme that over the past 24 years has gained in significance. It offers boaters information about the quality of marinas and the latter a powerful marketing tool. TYHA is associated with the British Marine Federation. Its phased rating system starts with a marina’s self-assessment. From there on, TYHA deploys assessors and anonymous visits. The top grade is awarded only to marinas conducting an anonymous online survey among their customers.
