Wim van der Valk plans 7 deliveries in 2015
WAALWIJK _ Wim van der Valk Continental Yachts expects to deliver at least 7 yachts in the first half of 2015. The first will be MY Selena, an all-aluminum Continental II 2300 Flybridge. The other deliveries are 2 trawlers (one of 17m, the other 37m), 3 flybridge versions of the Continental II 2300 and a Continental III 2500 with a raised pilothouse.
In collaboration with Guido de Groot Design, Van der Valk is also working on a new customized raised pilothouse Continental III. “For the moment we have designed 2 different deck plans,” says the yard _ one with a ‘full-beam’ master cabin on the main, the other with a side-deck master cabin.
Van der Valk is also working on its first 24m, all-aluminum Trawler that will have a beam of almost 7m, 4 cabins and quarters for 3 to 4 crew. Van der Valk promises a cruising speed of about 10kn and a top speed of about 18kn.
The yard has been building motor yachts since 1968. Over the years, these have grown bigger and ever more luxurious. Its popular Continental series (photo: 26m flybridge Continental III) was launched in the late 1990s.
To date, it has sold over 100 Continental yachts _ that today range from 15 to 37m _ in a wealth of wheelhouse and flybridge editions and equipped with the Volvo Penta IPS Drive System or conventional shaft drive systems.
