Jetten Yachting crafts 21m classic beauty
SNEEK _ Jetten Yachting will soon start on unusual project: a grand-looking, custom 21m classic motoryacht with heavy duty engines, a ‘Portuguese bridge’ and a trans-Atlantic range. The two-masted craft is bound to bolster its reputation as a sterling manufacturer of steel and aluminum hulls.
Jetten Yachting won the 2014 European Motoryacht of the year award with its AC-38. This year, it won a nomination for its 50MC (multi-purpose cruiser) series in the trawler category, the outcome of a collaboration with Vripack Naval Architects. The 21m classic motoryacht may make 2015 a banner year for the yard. The fetching yacht is due for delivery in 2016.
Werner Yacht Design handles the design and naval architecture. The yacht will boast a pair of frugal, heavy duty engines. Standout features are the Portuguese bridge with its walkway in front of the classical, upright bridge windows. There is an aft mast holding a crow’s nest and a hoist for the tender that also boasts a classic design. Inside, says the yard, will be comfortable air conditioned sleeping quarters with walk-in closets. There is also room for a captain and crew, if desired. The yacht is designed for both short voyages and trans-Atlantic passage making. It has water-tight compartments and the hull can handle ice.
